"Life is not all fun and easy going. Far from it; there are many rough times. But, sadly, we too often let the hard times dull our enthusiasm. And that is dangerous, if not fatal, to our lives."

The Four A’s of Regular Chiropractic Care

People see a lot of different benefits from being under regular chiropractic care. Some experience fewer headaches or an improvement in their digestion. Others have less back pain or a higher quality of life. The reason people experience improvements in their health is because their nervous system is now being enhanced by their spine. And it’s happening on a regular basis. This enables them to do everything they do better. Today I would like to share with you the most exciting benefits, the four A’s of regular chiropractic care.

Alert: The first A is being alert to your surroundings. With a balanced spine and healthy nervous system, you are more in tune with what is going on in and around you. You have a better sense of yourself and your environment. Instead of being hunkered down because of the hectic pace of daily life, you experience more “little wonders” around you.

Aware: Being conscious to the possibilities around you is the second A. The mainstream definition of health is to be symptom-free or to numb what is happening to you. If you have a headache, you must have a Tylenol deficiency or if you are experiencing diarrhea, you lack enough Pepto Bismol in your body. Having a healthy nervous system wakes you up. You experience life with a better awareness of what is happening right now and what that might hold for you.

Adapt: The third A is that you adapt more efficiently to stress. The nervous system is the primary means you use to interpret and respond to stress. When your spine supports your nervous system, the picture is clearer of the tension around you. Your response is then healthier. Rather than getting worried and uptight about the little things, you recognize the situation for what it really is. This decreases the wear and tear on you and improves your health in the long run.

Alive: Finally, being more alive in the life you are given is the fourth A. This is not just about getting through another day but thriving in each one. With a strong nervous system and spine, everything your mind and body does comes together with greater ease. Focusing on what is happening now and “being there” happens more often. For example, you are with your family rather than thinking about a thousand other things.

These four benefits and many others are available to everyone when they are under regular chiropractic care. It helps you continue on your path to wellness.

Question of the Month

Should I get my child’s spine checked before they go back to school?

Most parents appreciate the importance of regular checkups for their child's teeth, hearing, eyes and ears but aren’t sure when it comes to a spinal checkup. In fact, a spinal check up could be one of the most important checkups your child will ever have. Your child's spine is her lifeline. Encased within the spine is the spinal cord, containing billions of nerve fibers that send messages and energy from the brain to every part of her body. If the spine is out of balance, it puts tension on her nervous system. This disrupts the messages between her mind and body, not allowing your child to be at her best physically, intellectually and emotionally. Get your children’s spines checked by a chiropractor so they can be at their best as they start the school year.

Hormone Replacement Study a Shock to the Medical System

Headlines all over the world are telling women to stop taking hormone replacement drugs due to the increased risks related to heart attacks, strokes, blood clots, and other conditions/side effects. For further information: http://www.planetc1.com/cgi-bin/n/v.cgi?c=1&id=1026333001

This study and the subsequent story that is coming from it is an eye opener. It seems as though the doctor who made the idea popular was funded directly by the pharmaceutical company that made the hormones. Follow the money trail. In a related story, the New England Journal of Medicine relaxed its conflict-of-interest rules for authors of certain articles because it cannot find enough experts without financial ties to drug companies. Things to consider when you hear the term “medical science” or “breakthrough drug” used.

One Fifth of all New Drugs have Life-Threatening Adverse Effects

Twenty percent of all new drugs are found to have serious or life-threatening effects unknown or undisclosed at the time of drug approval, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Read more at: http://www.wcanews.com/archives/2002/may2202d.htm

This information ties in with the previous article. Unfortunately, these adverse effects aren’t discovered until the drug has been on the market, sometimes as long as seven years. I don’t want to sound like I am beating up on the medical system but take all this information and make an educated choice when making health decisions.
