Your List
As the New Year starts, it motivates people to start new habits and make resolutions. I have a suggestion for things to include as you reflect upon how you would like to approach 2003. I have included some the words to a song by Toby Keith called “My List” below. It struck home for me what really is important on a daily basis. Overall, I think life gets too busy and we lose sight of what matters. I hope this helps put things in perspective.
Under an old brass paperweight is my list of things to do today
Go to the bank and the hardware store, put a new lock on the cellar door
I cross `em off as I get `em done but when the sun is set
There’s still more than a few things left I haven’t got to yet
Go for a walk, say a little prayer
Take a deep breath of mountain air
Put on my glove and play some catch
It’s time that I make time for that
Wade the shore and cast a line
Pick up a long lost friend of mine
Sit on the porch and give my girl a kiss
Start livin`, that’s the next thing on my list
Wouldn’t change the course of fate but cuttin` the grass just had to wait
`Cause I’ve got more important things like pushin` my kid on the backyard swing
I won’t break my back for a million bucks I can’t take to my grave
So why put off for tomorrow what I could get done today
Raise a little hell, laugh `til it hurts
Put an extra five in the plate at church
Call up my folks just to chat
It’s time that I make time for that
Stay up late, then oversleep
Show her what she means to me
Catch up on all the things I’ve always missed
Just start livin`, that’s the next thing on my list
Under an old brass paperweight
Is my list of things to do today
Question of the Month
Would I benefit from regular chiropractic care even if my back doesn’t hurt?
Absolutely! Taking care of your spine on a regular basis whether you have symptoms or not offers tremendous benefits. The spine contains your lifeline, the nervous system. The nervous system connects the brain to the body and over it travels the intelligent information that makes you alive. By maintaining a healthy spine through chiropractic care you minimize how much nerve interference exists throughout the nervous system. Nerve interference, which is not always painful, disrupts the communication between the brain and body. It doesn’t allow you to be as healthy as you could be. With a strong spine and nervous system, you heal faster, work better and enjoy a higher quality of life.

Hurried Woman Syndrome
"There were times that I felt like I'd get really stressed out," Lee said. "And I went to my doctor and told him 'I have a really low energy level, I don't want to work out, I get kind of grumpy.' And he said, 'Hey, I've got a name for it.'" Read more:

I wish this were a spoof, or some comedy writer’s attempt to lighten up the Holiday Season. Watch next for the “little pink or purple pill” to help you deal with it. There are only 60 million women in the U.S. who are reported to have it, what a marketplace! It’s about balance and your “list” mentioned above not a new a label. Soon to be in the news: Overworked Man Syndrome--which is, of course, an outgrowth of Hyper-achieving Teen Syndrome, itself a by-product of Over-scheduled Toddler Syndrome. All of which ultimately lead to Totally Bonkers Seniors Syndrome. And there will be a pill for each one!
The Pitfalls of Over-the-Counter Painkillers
“Your over-the-counter anti-inflammatory pain medications may not just kill pain - they may kill you,” says a report released by the U.S. National Consumers League (NCL). More than 16,500 people die each year and 103,000 are hospitalized in the U.S. for serious complications caused by pain relievers known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). "People mistakenly assume that if a prescription is not required for a medication that is sold in a drugstore or a supermarket, then it must be safe," NCL president Linda Golodner says in a news release. This is important information for people to know and understand. There are potentially serious consequences when taking these and any types of medications.
