The Hub of Wellness

When a wheel is constructed, the important part is the center or the starting point known as the hub. It is from here that the spokes and the rest of the wheel is built. When referring to a city or a community, the hub is the center of activity. It is the focal point for the daily happenings. In the computer world, a hub is used to connect several computers together. The hub is responsible for exchanging messages between many computers in a network, other hubs and non-local computers. Regular chiropractic care can be thought of as a hub of wellness.

There are many pieces to put together when considering your approach to wellness. Chiropractic care can be the center of an effective wellness program. With a solid core, you can add other elements such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, meditation, supplements, energy balancing and yoga to enhance your wellness. People usually limit their use of Chiropractic care as a way of treating back pain or headaches naturally. This is unfortunate because it has much greater potential for those seeking higher levels of performance, creativity and wellness.Chiropractors, known mostly as "Back Doctors", work with the spine to keep it healthy. It’s really the nervous system they are after. The spine just happens to be the way to improve how that nervous system functions. Over the nervous system travels the intelligent messages that allow you to feel, digest, think, rebuild and evolve. Your inner guidance system uses the nerves as the link to the body to make sure those life giving processes work well.

By maintaining the health of the spine through chiropractic care, your nervous system works better. You work better. All the healthy habits you’ve incorporated into your daily life as well as all the effort you put into being well are enhanced. The nervous system coordinates how well the food and supplements you take are absorbed and digested. The nervous system regulates the contraction of your muscles and impacts the benefits you receive from being active. The nervous system acts as your window to the outside world. This influences your thought process and perspectives on life.

The nervous system is the center of activity in your body. It is responsible for exchanging information with other parts to enable it to express health. Regular chiropractic gives it the chance to do that well. It is the hub that brings everything together to help you continue down the path to wellness. Consult a chiropractor today.

Question of the Month

Why is it when there is a “flu bug” going around not everyone gets sick?

Viruses and bacteria are opportunists. In other words, they don’t stand a chance unless your body is rundown. What determines whether you get the flu or not is your immune system’s strength. How can we keep your body and other systems running well? The obvious answers are good nutrition, adequate rest, moderate exercise, and a positive outlook on life. The key to getting the most benefit from these habits is a healthy spine and nervous system. If our brain and body cannot communicate properly, we can’t mount the proper defenses, we may not get the complete nutritional value from our food and we’re not reaching our potential. Get your spine and nervous system checked by a chiropractor today to ensure you are as healthy as you can be!

Teens on Sports Teams Live Healthier Lifestyles

What my parents said was right! Teenagers who are physically active and participate in team sports are less likely to engage in unhealthy behavior. To read more: http://www.healthscout.com/news/1/8006997/main.html

My parents always thought it was a good idea to play sports while I was growing up. It turns out that there are many positives to being on a team while you are a teenager. Both boys and girls on sports teams were less likely to abuse substances and engage in risky sexual activities than those who weren’t. These reasons as well as the health benefits show that teams sports can be a great thing for teenagers to do.
