Top Ten Reasons Why You Should Get Chiropractic Care at Larsen Family Chiropractic
1. To get off the hamster wheel.
Have an adjustment and escape from the world for a bit. Relax and be still for a moment or two.
2. Get your power turned on.
Release your power within and clear your nervous system from interference. Your body will communicate and function better for it.
3. We’re flexible.
No, we can’t put our foot behind our ear but we will fit you into the schedule. Life happens – when you need us we’ll be here, give us a call or pop by the office. We have appointments over lunchtime and an extended day with evening appointments too.
4. Cheaper than an oil change.
You regularly pay more to maintain your car. Why not pay even less and invest in yourself?
5. Location, location, location.
Being in downtown Red Deer means we’re close to everyone. No matter where you live you don’t have to maneuver traffic through the whole city.
6. It’s all in the technique.
Our approach is from a gentler perspective. We want to work with your body to get the best possible results. No WWE moves done here.
7. Stompin’ Tom.
Where else can you listen to everything from Stompin’ Tom Connors to Bach and the Bare Naked Ladies while getting an adjustment?
8. All out in the open.
We have a unique open style concept in our office. Change your perspective around your health. We do have a private suite if you prefer. Just remember you might miss out on some really amazing conversations.
9. Sounding boards and guidance.
We don’t pretend to know everything – O.K. not even 50% of everything but we do work on keeping up to date. Ask us, we love to share our knowledge, ideas or advice. If we don’t know we’ll sure try to find out for you.
10. We’re different.
You’ll soon realize we’re unique, just like you. We believe in, of course, chiropractic, family, fun, wellness and thinking outside the box.

Question of the Month
My kids are going back to school. What recommendations do you have for backpacks?
A good guideline to follow for how heavy the backpack should be is 10% of the body weight of the child carrying it. For example, if your child weighs 80 pounds there should be no more than 8 pounds of books and supplies in the backpack. More than that can increase the risk of damaging the developing spine of the child. Also remember to have your child use both straps of the pack at all times. This distributes the weight evenly over the body. Using only one strap puts unbalanced stress on the body and can injure the spine and surrounding structures. A sound spine and nervous system are the foundation for building healthy futures for our children. Proper use of backpacks and getting their spine and nervous systems checked by a chiropractor can ensure that future.

Although this commentary is a bit long and wordy, pay attention to the last page. He touches on some social issues surrounding heart disease that need more attention. He also makes an interesting statement about cholesterol at the end of the piece. Some food for thought.
Office Happenings
1. Introducing The Wellness Club. Chiropractic care is about consistency and momentum. It’s NOT about pain. Just like exercise, eating habits, rest and other healthy choices you make, regular chiropractic adjustments are a crucial part of a wellness lifestyle. That is why we have created a wellness club to help keep you on the path to wellness and reward you for doing so.
As a member of the Wellness Club, you will be eligible to receive a complimentary 30-minute massage on each anniversary date of your joining. You can also receive reminders of your appointments to help you stay on track along with other benefits. Best of all, your health and performance will improve. What we ask of you is that you sign up and get adjusted or checked at least once a month for a 12-month period. Talk to Carol for more details.
2. Coloring Contest. Would you like to win an awesome backpack for going back to school? If you are in Kindergarten to Grade 6, ask us for a coloring sheet and put your crayons or markers to use.
